Guide to Family Forward Workplaces – Upcoming Webinar

Trouble Hiring? With low unemployment in NC and a significant gap between available jobs and skilled workers for those jobs, half of NC employers had trouble hiring in 2018.

Missed our Family Forward Summit on April 1? Then join us on June 20th from 9:00 to 10:00 am to learn about attracting and retaining top talent and supporting children’s health and well-being through family friendly workplace benefits. The North Carolina Early Childhood Foundation (NCECF) has created Family Forward NC – an initiative to improve children’s health and well-being and keep North Carolina’s businesses competitive. It’s about business-led change to increase access to research-based, family-friendly practices — big and small — that improve workplace productivity, recruitment and retention; grow a strong economy; and support children’s healthy development.

The webinar will explore NCECF’s Guide to Family Forward Workplaces. The Guide provides tools for employers of all sizes with practical tips for selecting and implementing 16 family-friendly workplace practices such as flexible scheduling, accommodations for pregnant workers, and paid parental leave that have evidence to support positive business and child health outcomes.

Please join us on June 20 with guest presenter Dr. Nina Smith, Assistant Professor of Human Sciences at NC Central University. This webinar is for business, non-profit and community leaders, economic and workforce development professionals, employers and HR staff statewide.
