Crystal Avila

Crystal is the Project Coordinator for the NC Early Childhood Foundation (NCECF), providing support to the organization’s various initiatives and vital work supporting children across the state. Passionate about participating in community-based change, Crystal began her career serving in AmeriCorps VISTA in Durham, and then abroad in the nationwide government education initiative, Colombia-Bilingüe. Since then, she has had the privilege of working in various roles in the education and nonprofit sectors in both the US and Colombia and remains an active volunteer in her community.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Crystal is now proud to call Durham home. She joined the team at NCECF in 2022, holds a BA in Communication from Edinboro University, and an MPA in Nonprofit Management from the University of Pittsburgh.
