Tosh Acosta

Tosh R. Acosta serves as Family Forward NC® Statewide Strategist at the North Carolina Early Childhood Foundation, where she leads statewide outreach to expand family-friendly workplace practices and increase participation in the Family Forward NC® Employer Certification program.

With more than 15 years of experience supporting North Carolina’s small businesses and entrepreneurs, Tosh brings expertise in financial services, higher education, business counseling, and community development financial institutions. Her career includes leadership roles with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the NC Rural Center, and the NC Small Business and Technology Development Center.

Throughout her career, Tosh has built collaborative partnerships, connected businesses with critical resources, coached entrepreneurs, and led statewide initiatives that strengthen North Carolina’s business community. She is passionate about helping employers create workplace cultures that support working families while contributing to the state’s long-term economic success.

Tosh holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from North Carolina Central University and a Master’s of Entrepreneurship from Western Carolina University. She calls Fayetteville home, but resides in Durham. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband, two Shi Poos, family, and friends. In addition, you will often find her dancing salsa and bachata or trying new restaurants across North Carolina.
