Action Greensboro, the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce and the North Carolina Early Childhood Foundation’s Family Forward NC announce a new effort to make Greensboro the first Family Forward NC Certified Community in the state. Through a new initiative – Future Ready Greensboro – the goal is to ensure that at least 85,000 employees in Greensboro work for Family Forward NC Certified Employers by 2025.

Action Greensboro and Family Forward NC are partnering to increase the number of greater Greensboro employers who provide family-friendly workplace benefits and become Family Forward NC Certified Employers. We can help you become certified as a family-friendly workplace. This interactive training will focus on why hiring for culture matters and why having a candidate that fits your company’s values is more important than finding one with that elusive ‘perfect’ resume. Join us for this interactive and informative shared learning experience with Shawn Straub, MA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP and President and Founder of Greensboro-based ALT HR Partners. This training will include time for participants to create behavioral interview questions based on their company’s culture to use at their next interview.

We are inviting child care and preschool directors, family child care providers, and preschool teachers to participate in a FREE 2-hour collective problem solving workshop. This workshop is directed toward providers, teachers, and technical assistance specialists who are working to support children exhibiting challenging behaviors and minimize the use of short- or long-term removal from the program in response to behavior challenges. Please join us for a capacity building workshop to advance your knowledge of practices that increase the likelihood that children’s behavior will be met with support and care, rather than exclusion.
