Webinar – Head Start and the Every Student Succeeds Act
Building a strong foundation for learning takes all of us working together. With its requirements to engage early learning stakeholders and specifically partner with Head Start, ESSA provides an opportunity to collaborate across agencies to support children in fulfilling their potential.
The Department of Public Instruction, the North Carolina Early Childhood Foundation, and EducationCounsel is partnering with the NC Head Start Association to host a webinar exclusively for Head Start agencies. The webinar will:
- Highlight how the Every Student Succeeds Act is a vehicle for strengthening local early childhood systems
- Outline the support that will be available to Head Start agencies, Local Education Agencies and early learning leaders to create aligned strategic plans that meet requirements for all community partners.
- Share focus areas for 2019. Three areas were identified by local early learning and K-12 leaders as priorities: family engagement, aligned professional development and transition into kindergarten.
