Child Development at Kindergarten Entry Data Workgroup – Meeting 1
The data workgroup is recommending a measure or set of measures to capture children’s development at kindergarten entry at the population level. At the first meeting, participants:
- Learned how their work will inform the Pathways to Grade-Level Reading Measures of Success Framework and the NC Early Childhood Action Plan
- Reviewed roles, responsibilities and objectives for the work
- Were introduced to the racial equity lens that the data workgroup will use
- Discussed criteria for recommending a strong measure or measures
- Heard an overview of child development measures at kindergarten entry, including the NC Kindergarten Entry Assessment (KEA)
- Identified questions and content for consideration at the next meeting
