We are thrilled to announce that our Executive Director Theresa Roedersheimer has been appointed to Governor Josh Stein’s Task Force for Child Care and Early Education!
This newly established task force will focus on expanding access to affordable, high-quality child care and strengthening support for child care providers across North Carolina. Governor Stein’s executive order outlines the group’s mission to identify gaps in the current system, recommend key public and private investments, and develop strategies to recruit and retain a strong child care workforce.
“When we invest in child care, everyone benefits,” said Governor Josh Stein. “Parents get to keep working and building their careers. Small businesses can keep their productive workers. And most importantly, our kids get a nurturing and supportive environment where they can thrive during their formative years, one that will shape their entire educational trajectory.”
Theresa will join 25 state experts, advocates and policymakers to lead the Task Force. Read the full appointment release.
