While learning loss estimates due to the pandemic may differ, there is agreement that children need to keep learning all summer long. Parents still need support to keep their children learning during the summer, especially to tackle learning loss associated with COVID-19.
We also know that learning happens everywhere and that’s what our Summer Learning Toolkit is all about. Our toolkit guides summer camp and program staff to engage parents about the importance of summer learning with tips communicated in person and through social media, texts, newsletters, a fact sheet and calls.
Our toolkit was first created in 2018 with input and advice from NC parents about the types of information parents need and the best ways to reach out to them.
