Friends of NCECF,
It is with mixed emotions that I am informing you that Mandy Ableidinger will be leaving NCECF to join the Alliance for Early Success as a Senior Policy Director. I am positively thrilled for her, AND we can all agree that the national early childhood development field has just gained a super star. I’m also so sorry to lose her as our one-in-a-million and extraordinary Deputy Director. Mandy has had a major impact on the organization and has helped us grow to new heights – from her astute and much in-demand policy analysis, to her expert convening and facilitation skills, and most notably, her role as “midwife” to the Pathways to Grade-level Reading Initiative, which framework and measures for success have been adopted by virtually all statewide efforts that relate to young child healthy development and educational attainment. Mandy contributed so much to NCECF’s reputation as a leader due to her passion for the work, her ability to think audaciously, her prodigious synthesis, her brilliant content churn, her relentless quest for being antiracist in all we produce, facilitate, and share, her deep love of little kids, and mostly, her sense of fun, charm, and charisma. I’m just grateful that I will continue to have the pleasure of learning from her – as a national partner, mentor, and friend. Her last day is Friday, March 26.
Mandy has left an indelible mark on NCECF. She has helped to create a culture of empathy, curiosity, self-reflection, support, and the joy of getting to learn from and with our colleagues, that we will all embrace and carry forward. I’m confident that because we are in a strong position financially, relationally, and we are supporting important work around transformative equitable early childhood systems, that we will attract strong candidates for a reimagined role in the coming weeks or months.
Please join me in congratulating Mandy on this new exciting role!
My best,
Muffy
