NCECF Welcomes Peggy Wang and Dr. Jennifer Vu to the Board of Directors

Raleigh, NC (July 22, 2019) – The North Carolina Early Childhood Foundation (NCECF) announces the election of two new members to its Board of Directors – Peggy Wang, the Director in PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)’s Private Company Services, and Dr. Jennifer Vu, an internist and pediatrician at Wake Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Peggy will also serve as NCECF’s Board Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair.

With over 14 years of experience, Peggy provides companies with audit and business advisory services across a broad range of industries including industrial products and manufacturing, engineering and construction consulting services, medical devices, wholesale distribution and nonprofit organizations for PwC. She also co-leads PwC’s national Pan-Asian Community Inclusion Network which focuses on professional development for members across the United States. Peggy received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of California and is a registered CPA in North Carolina. Peggy was recently unanimously elected as NCECF’s Board Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair.

Peggy is “thrilled to join this amazing team championing the importance and urgency of early childhood education. Having two young children under the age of six, I experienced firsthand how crucial it is to have equity in early education so that children are not playing catch-up in school. I cannot wait to see what we will be able accomplish in the future for the children in our state.”

A North Carolina native, Phuong-Mai Jennifer Vu is a board-certified internist and pediatrician at Wake Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Jennifer also serves as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for both her undergraduate education and earned a Masters in Public Health in nutrition. She received her M.D. from East Carolina University and completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Illinois-Chicago. She was selected to serve as Pediatric Chief Resident from 2015-2016 with a focus on training young physician residents in pediatrics. Jennifer joined Wake Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in 2016 when she returned back to North Carolina with her husband.

“We are delighted to welcome these two new brilliant board leaders.” shared Muffy Grant, NCECF’s Executive Director. “Peggy and Jennifer bring impressive acumen in their respective fields and have demonstrated a deep commitment to supporting healthy development for the children of North Carolina. They will add much value in moving our mission forward.”
