Be Inspired on April 1st

In just a few weeks, Family Forward NC will host prominent business and community leaders to share how family-friendly workplace practices are strengthening their companies, the community, and our state’s future workforce.

Bestselling author and award-winning journalist Brigid Schulte, director of New America’s Better Life Lab, will give the keynote at the Family Forward NC Summit, which will take place from 10 am to 2 pm on Monday, April 1. Schulte’s book, Overwhelmed: How to Work, Love, and Play When No One Has the Time, analyzes our busy culture and explores ways to find more balance. She is an expert on how work-life and gender equity issues are key to excellence, productivity, and innovation.

At the Summit, you’ll also hear from NC business and community leaders about the value of family friendly workplaces:

  • Mary-Ann Baldwin, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Holt Brothers Inc.
  • Anita Brown-Graham, Director, ncImpact
  • Patrick Conway, President and CEO, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina
  • Lisa May, Executive Vice President of Human Resources, RTI International
  • Jennifer Jordan, Director of Mom and Baby, Aeroflow Healthcare
  • Charrise Hart, Executive Director, YWCA Lower Cape Fear

At the Family Forward NC Summit, we will explore how to improve workplace productivity, recruitment and retention; grow a strong economy; and support children’s healthy development by supporting and inspiring employers across the state to increase access to research-based, family-friendly workplace practices.

Registration is open for this event, which will take place at the RTI International campus in the Triangle. The Family Forward NC Summit is for business leaders, employers, and community leaders statewide who want to attract and retain top talent, support child health and well-being, help close the skills gap, and support future workforce development.
