The Pathways to Grade-Level Reading Action Framework was released this week, and NCECF is presenting the excellent work of the Pathways Partners around the state.
NCECF presented to the North Carolina State Board of Education on February 6th about the importance of focusing on the first eight years, strategies for improving early learning, the importance of working with a racial equity lens, and the Pathways Action Framework. The presentation was part of an issue session on early learning.
State Board Chair Eric Davis said, “Take back to the Foundation this Board’s full and absolute support and endorsement of every aspect of this plan. We want to be your partner. We want to accomplish this plan.” The audio of the presentation and Board members’ comments is available here.
NCECF presented the keynote address at the Rockingham County Eggs and Issues Elected Officials Breakfast on February 8th. The event focused on the infant and toddler years. NCECF presented about the importance of the first three years in building a lifelong foundation for health and learning, the Pathways to Grade-Level Reading Initiative, the Think Babies™ NC Initiative, and Family Forward NC. The breakfast was sponsored by the Rockingham County Partnership for Children, the Rockingham County Education Foundation, and the Reidsville Area Foundation.
