NCECF Board Members Recognized for Excellence

Several of our Board members are being recognized for their contributions and commitment to children.

Easter Maynard, Board Chair of the North Carolina Early Childhood Foundation (NCECF) and the Director of Community Investment for Investors Management Corporation, has been awarded the Vernon Malone Friend of Education Award by Wake Education Partnership. Maynard will be honored at the Stars of Education annual dinner presented by PNC Bank, on October 10th at the Raleigh Marriott City Center. She will be recognized for her dedication to public education and advocacy for all children across the state of North Carolina. Tickets for the event can be purchased here.

NCECF Board member, Sheresa Blanchard, is being recognized for her commitment to young children through her service, research and publications in early intervention with The Merle B. Karnes Award for Service to the Division for Early Childhood. Blanchard is an assistant professor in birth through kindergarten at East Carolina University in the department of Human Development and Family Science. The awards breakfast will be held on Friday, October 26th at the Division for Early Childhood’s Annual Conference. With his decades of experience in creating early intervention programs and integrating early childhood data systems, Duncan Munn joined the NCECF board of directors at its inception in 2013. Munn will be honored on November 7th for the Helen C. “Holly” Riddle Distinguished Service Award 2018 on behalf of the NC Council on Developmental Disabilities for his continuous advocacy for all children with developmental disabilities.
