In September, the North Carolina Early Childhood Foundation and the Institute for Child Success in collaboration with BEST NC released a groundbreaking new resource, What Works for Third Grade Reading, a collection of 12 working papers that address whole-child, birth-to-age-eight factors that support children’s optimal development and improve reading proficiency. The working papers are part of a collection of resources to support and advance the work of the NC Pathways to Grade-Level Reading (Pathways) initiative.

Join us for a webinar, on October 30 from 11:30am to 12:30pm (Eastern), to learn more about how these working papers, along with other Pathways resources, can assist communities in improving outcomes for young children.

Presenters include:
  • Mandy Ableidinger, Policy and Practice Leader, NC Early Childhood Foundation
  • Dr. Janice Gruendel, Senior Fellow, Institute for Child Success
  • Keller Anne Ruble Associate Director, Policy Research, Institute for Child Success

Background on Pathways

Pathways is bringing together diverse leaders working across disciplines, sectors, systems, and political ideologies to define a common vision, shared measures of success and coordinated strategies that support children’s optimal development beginning at birth. Pathways is an initiative of the NC Early Childhood Foundation in collaboration with NC Child, the North Carolina Partnership for Children, Inc., and BEST NC.
