CEO of Global Contact Services Joins NCECF Board; Easter Maynard Elected Vice-Chair

Gregory Alcorn, founder and CEO of Global Contact Services and a member of the State Board of Education joins the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Early Childhood Foundation (NCECF), a statewide nonprofit driven by the vision that each North Carolina child has a strong foundation for lifelong success and reading proficiency, supported by the nation’s best birth-to-eight system. The NCECF board also elected Easter Maynard, Director of Community Investment for Investors Management Corporation, as Vice Chair.

In addition to founding Global Contact Services, which provides contact center and back office support with outsourcing, contract management, and consulting, Alcorn and his family started the Appleseed Project, which gives a highly customized tablet loaded with over 60 e-books and reading applications for children aged birth to four. As a graduate from Catawba College, Alcorn has served on its Board of Trustees since 1999 and was selected Alumnus of the Year in 2010.  Representing the southwest region of NC, Alcorn has served on the North Carolina State Board of Education since 2013.

A native to Raleigh, Easter Maynard is an experienced non-profit leader and grant maker, leading the  ChildTrust Foundation. Ms. Maynard currently serves as the Director of Community Investment for Investors Management Corporation, parent company of Golden Corral Corporation. She received her bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and her MSW from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a literacy advocate, Maynard serves on the boards for Golden Corral Corporation, the Triangle Community Foundation, Methodist Home for Children, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wake County. 

NCECF has a bold vision that each North Carolina child has a strong foundation for lifelong success and reading proficiency, supported by the nation’s best birth-to-eight system. NCECF promotes public understanding of and support for policies that promote children’s birth-to-eight years for academic and lifelong success, convenes and spearheads collaboration to bridge North Carolina’s birth-to-five and kindergarten-to-third grade systems, and advances policies that create a stronger NC today and tomorrow by supporting each child’s birth-to-eight development.
