On Wednesday, December 10 the White House will host a Summit on Early Education – a convening of prominent business leaders, philanthropists, advocates, elected officials and members of the public committed to the expansion of high-quality early education opportunities for children across the country from birth through school entry.

Will NC Receive Preschool Expansion Grant?
During the summit, the President will announce the states and communities that will receive $250 million in Preschool Development and Expansion Grants and $500 million in Early Head Start Child Care Partnership awards to enhance and expand preschool programs and to improve access to high-quality infant and toddler care in high-need communities. North Carolina applied for a Preschool Expansion Grant and is eligible to receive up to $20 million a year for four years.
In addition, the President and the First Five Years Fund will launch a new campaign challenging policymakers and public and private partners to build a better nation through high-quality early childhood education.
