Tapping into the Currency of Influence

Posted March 13, 2014 in News

A central part of our Theory of Change is building public will by empowering people with information and connecting them to early childhood issues through their own values, experiences and relationships.

So, it was very exciting to watch Julie Dixon’s TedTalk, Using Your Social Currency to Support Global Causes. She talks about the value of influence – particularly influence through social media. Do tweeting, posting on Facebook or other using other social networks actually do anything? Julie shares some compelling stories that make the case that they absolutely do.

The key message: Ask people to act!

Julie Dixon is the Deputy Director of Social Impact and Change at Georgetown University, and as you’ll learn in the video, a musician.
